Happy Belated Valentines Day!

Valentines day is over I know, but I wanted to share the love.
On V-day I had class as usual. But, I had some good fun and felt the love.
I got tons of Valentines from the kids at work - I really did good this year since I work in 3 classrooms. My favorite Valentine wasn't even a written one. It was out on the playground in the afternoon when one of the girls comes running up to me. "Miss Julie HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!" followed by a hug. How precious!

All the cards that I got! Along with a rose from Rebecca!!

Becca got me this awesome dancing Napoleon Dynamite card along with a mug full of Ferro Rocher's (my favorite candy ever!), the rose, and the movie Failure to Launch. It was so sweeeet of her!! I love my rooms!!

Grandddpa sent me this card with a special collective inside! It's always nice to get mail and a Valentine was extra special!

mug from rooms!!

After I got off work I picked up Amanda and Rachel and we went to Panera for some yummy dinner and then back to my apartment to watch Becoming Jane. A good chick flick with some great girls - yay!

Then Rachel and I went to Crusade which really was the best. After all, Jesus is the best Valentine a girl could ask for.

Amazing Video

Tonight at Bible Study we watched the "How Great is our God" talk by Louie Giglio. It was so incredible and completely blew me away. This was one of my favorite parts.

I cannot wait to hear him speak this weekend at Passion!

Kristin & Quinton had their baby boy last Friday!!! Colton Thomas Kocher made his appearance at 3:26 am on Friday the 2nd. He weights 7lbs 4 ox ad is 21 inches long.

For those of you who aren't getting the connnection here Kristin used to be my bible study leader in 9th grade and I then worked with her at church during my internship senior year. She was the youth secretary at the time so I got to see her a lot. She was such an influence on my life, showing me how a young woman could please the Lord with her life.

boo hoo being sick

warning: this post may contain excessive amounts of complaining and whining.

Well, happy ice day to everyone out there in blog land? oh wait, you don't have ice where you live? well we do. As a child I loved waking up on a snow day to find out that school was canceled and that I could play and have fun in the wintry wonderland.

This morning I woke up at about 3am to hear the snow plows out scraping the roads. And by scraping I mean loud noise. And since I am sick and was unhappy to be awakened from my sleepful state in which I was not aware of my sore throat and runny nose. Thankfully I somehow fell back asleep.

When I woke up at about 8am I looked outside and saw ICE and lots of it. Checked the internet and classes were cancelled for the ENTIRE DAY. Now, let this be known. Appalachian NEVER cancels class for weather unless it is bad. In my 3 years here at school I have only experienced 2 days where class was delayed. This was the first day of complete canceled classes since I have been here. So for that to happen it meant the weather was BAD.

I was planning on coming home today. I was going to go to the 20/20 conference at Southeastern Seminary and stay with LB. I was so excited!! Until I saw the ice. I knew I wouldn't be able to leave as early as I wanted and then I calculated in the sickness that wont ever seem to go away. It was rediculous. So I decided to stay here and be miserable here instead of driving 6 hours this weekend. Needless to say I am bummed. I was really excited about worship with the Shelly Moore Band and Daniel Renstrom and hearing CJ Maheny speak and a seminar on Hinduism.

So I'm stuck here. I did have one brightspot in my day. Rooms and I have enacted a snow day tradition. Whenever class is cancelled or delayed we walk over to Panera and have breakfast. It was so yummy. We are so blessed to live so close to the mall as it provides us with somewhere to walk to in inclement weather. We ended up walking around the mall for a bit after breakfast, thoroughly enjoying spending time in the bookstore.

Well that's all for now. Back to sneezyland for me.
